AI is revolutionizing the storage solution landscape, enhancing workload performance and data reduction capabilities. A recent study by IPED, a consulting division of CRN's parent company, says that 40 percent of solution providers foresee a significant impact from AI in the coming 12 to 24 months. These technological strides are not only reducing operational costs but also empowering partners to facilitate AI driven projects more effectively. In an exclusive interview with CRNtv, Gregg Ambulos from Dell Technologies discusses these exciting advancements and their implications for the future. The recent PowerStore Prime updates promise greater efficiency and faster speeds. How will these enhancements benefit both partners and their customers? Gregg: The announcement really benefits both customers and partners across the board. We announced it at Dell Technology World, and it’s quickly gained a lot of traction with both our customers and our partner base. With the release, customers get an additional 30 percent performance increase and 20 percent less latency, which is incredible. Plus, our data reduction rate of five to one, which is industry leading for compressed data, is getting well received and getting great marks from our customers. We also offer the best industry guarantees with respect to our five to one efficiency. We announced QLC drives and a bunch of other different benefits. One thing to keep in mind for our customers and our partner community is that if a customer is current with their maintenance, they get all these benefits at no additional cost if they have the maintenance contract. Additionally, we introduced tailor-made bundles to make it easy for our partners to transact. We also included a better together bundle, which consists of our PowerStore platform, PowerStore Prime platform and our data domain offering. Partners really like it and appreciate the ease of use. This ties nicely into our entire partner-first strategy. What makes PowerStore Prime an appealing choice for customers right now? Gregg: Customers are receiving enhanced storage performance, resiliency and multicloud capabilities. With Dell AFX subscription, they can offer both CapEx and OpEx opportunities, providing a flexible consumption model. PowerStore Prime is a smart choice for all-flash storage as it’s adaptable, intelligent and future proof. We’re really excited about the platform, and it’s being extremely well received. Why is PowerStore Prime a valuable option for solution providers seeking next-generation hardware for AI? Gregg: For AI workloads, you need fast computing, rapid networking and high-performance, scalable and flexible storage are essential. That’s what PowerStore Prime brings to the table. Our storage portfolio is second to none and the broadest in the industry. Our PowerScale offering is a great fit for AI workloads which mostly involve unstructured data. We’ve made it easy for our partners to position solutions for these AI opportunities. We introduced AI factories at Dell Technologies World, which are validated designs and solutions that partners can build their services and consulting capabilities around. We’re seeing great traction and a lot of interest.
